Boswell's record doesn't support flier's rhetoric
Des Moines Register - Letter to the editor
Just when I thought this election couldn't get any more petty, the Boswell for Congress campaign sent a highly entertaining (for all the wrong reasons) flier to my mailbox. As reported in "Boswell Turns Up Burners on Fallon Allegiance" (April 24), the...

Concentrate on problem solving
Letter to the editor - The Des Moines Register
We here in the 3rd District have some pretty serious problems that need to be addressed.
How sad that U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell's supporters seem to concentrate on smearing mud rather than solving issues.

It's about power
Des Moines Register - Letter to the editor
Leonard Boswell's recent campaign ad asserting that Ed Fallon is responsible for 4,000 American deaths in Iraq is despicable. It is exactly this say and do anything to win and hold on to power mind-set that has gotten our country in such a mess.

Letter to the editor -
Des Moines Register - Letter to the editor
Huh? A thistle to Ed Fallon for holding an event on global climate change on a bitterly cold winter day? It sounds as if the Register thinks global warming is only a problem in the heat of summer.

Letter to the editor - Besides, Fallon would have had to wait until July...
Des Moines Register - Letter to the editor
I'll give a thistle to the Register's editors in response to the one they gave Ed Fallon for giving a global warming speech on a cold day ("A Chilling Reception," Feb. 24 Roses & Thistles).

Letter to the editor - Boswell's vote should reflect district's
Des Moines Register - Letter to the editor
Leonard Boswell's pledge to cast his superdelegate vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton at the National Democratic Convention troubles me. Barack Obama won Boswell's 3rd District by a large enough margin to win one more delegate than Clinton, who came in...

Letter to the editor - Civic Skinny is nothing, if not persistent
Cityview Online (Letters To The Editor)
Here we go again. Civic Skinny is nothing if not persistent (“Civic Skinny,” Feb. 28). Ralph Nader’s entry into the presidential race is supposedly a bad deal for the “sometime-Democrat” Ed Fallon, Leonard Boswell’s opponent in the Third District primary.

Letter to the editor - Fallon for Congress
Cityview - Letter to the editor
After receiving 26 percent of the vote statewide and 41 percent of the vote in District 3 in the 2006 governor’s race, it is amazing to me that Cityview is persisting with the view that Ed Fallon is a “kook” (“Civic Skinny,” Jan. 24). Skinny likes to portray him...

Letter to the editor - Iowa's election should be about climate solutions
Des Moines Register - Letter to the editor
It's very exciting that global warming has emerged as one of the major issues this election, not just on the national stage, but also on the local front. Ed Fallon's recent decision to challenge U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell is a bright spot in an...

Letter to the editor - Is Ed Fallon a ‘kook?
Cityview - Letter to the editor
I was disappointed to read your article attacking Ed Fallon as a “kook.” If being against the disastrous Iraq war before its start; being for serious campaign finance reform, which will renew our democracy; and being a proven champion of our environment makes...

Mr. Ourth,
For the record, I find this email and message

past - as I felt strongly that a Democrat should
represent the 3rd District - but...
