Net Neutrality
• Big
corporations such as the telecom companies
favored passage of the
Communications, Opportunity, Protection, and
Enhancement Act of 2006 (COPE).
Citizens’ groups such as Common Cause opposed
the legislation.
• Boswell,
who takes money from telecom companies ($5,000
last year from AT&T, for
example), voted for COPE (H.R. 5252,
06/08/06). He also voted against the Markey
amendment that would have maintained net
neutrality, which House Democrats
supported 140-58.
• Ed Fallon supports net neutrality and will vote to keep big corporate interests from controlling the Internet.
